Social Glitz, Smoke & Mirror
When it comes to social media marketing there’s a lot of lights, glitz, smoke and mirror for the most part. Am I anti-social media marketing? Absolutely not. I do want to help save you a lot of wasted time and money in disciphering what and what doesn’t work.
The Magic Number
So back to the magic number. The magic number for you will depend on a couple of things. How far are you determined to taking your business? How much work, time, dedication and money are you willing to invest into your business for maximum benefit to well being of your family and your future? Now don’t look at me and think that I’m asking you to give me a ton of money so and you’ll get rich. I’m not asking you for one penny. This is not about me. It’s all about you!
Magic Number Formula
Although I do not currently have your magic number yet I will however share with you a quick formula that will help you come up with your magic number. Go ahead and fill in the numbers below.
Most people that hate math end up loving math once the numbers translate in numbers you can take to the bank. Here is my hypothetical formula. Feel free to change the numbers to whatever you want them to be for your business:
Marketing $$$ to Invest: $5,250
Average Customer Worth Per Visit/Transaction: $500
Average Cost To Reach 1 Customer: $3.50
Now with these numbers let’s imagine that you were to send out 1,500 marketing pieces to a qualified resonsive list specific to your business product or service. That means that these leads are regular purchasers of your type of product or service.
Out of the 1,500 people that you marketed to, 285 people respond to your piece and buy from you. Your average customer transaction is $500 which means that your $5,250 just turned into $142,400.00 for a ROI of ((142400-5250=137150)/5250) 2,712%
So $142,400 for an investment of $5,250 is a pretty good deal don’t you think?
Got It? If Not Don’t Worry
Now if you followed the math then you should realize where the magic number lies. Did you get it? If you understood the math above then you probably know where I’m going with this. But if you didn’t understand all of the math above then don’t worry about it. I wrote all of this to make a point.
The Shiny Object
As I mentioned above, social media is the new shiny object that everyone’s getting into but don’t really know what they’re doing or getting into. It’s sort of like watchin the hamster wheel effect. There’s a lot of movement, activity and there’s even speed but if you talk to people that are sending out all of the tweet blasts and facebook posts and get the real story, most people, if truthful will tell you that they’re not getting the results they claim they are. Here’s the reason.
The Real Magic Number
You see, the magic number that I’m talking about is the number that gives you a specific measurable outcome from your marketing investment like the example above. The example above is really not a far atainable figure. Actually, it’s a rather low number to the potential of the formula.
A lot of people in “social media marketing” are doing a lot of hard work, spending a lot of time but wouldn’t even know how to begin telling you how they measure the results of their marketing via Profits $$$’s coming that come in directly from you marketing efforts.
